Our CVTs are solidly built units with no moving parts or electronic components except one or more resonating capacitors (CVTs can be supplied with or without capacitors). This makes the CVT almost indestructible. The output can be continuously and completely short circuited without damage

The CVT will provide a regulated voltage output on a cycle to cycle basis whilst being unaffected by either low or high input voltage. The CVT will present a low impedance to very high voltage surges and provide an effective barrier to lower energy spikes which can cause data corruption in computers and computer-based equipment.

Although normally specified over a ±15% input range, the CVT does not stop working outside this range, however for practical reasons a swing in excess of ±25% ceases to give a useful output. Because of the resonating circuit in the output of the CVT, a limited energy storage capability is exhibited which will maintain the output for a period approximating  half a cycle if the input is temporarily interrupted.

TEC CVTs are manufactured using class F materials as a minimum. In addition to normal testing each CVT is checked for insulation integrity by "flashing" the input and output windings to core and earth.

AC OUTPUT The output voltage will remain within ±4% of nominal from zero to full load, at unity power factor, over the input tolerances.
LINE STABILISATION Output voltage will be typically ±3% for ±15% input range.
WAVEFORM The output waveform is sinusoidal, with less than 3% harmonic distortion.
FREQUENCY 50 Hz or 60 Hz - please specify.
EFFICIENCY Typical efficiency at full load and nominal input voltage at greater than 80%.

INPUT TOLERANCES±15%.
AC OUTPUT Output voltage will be typically ±3% for ±15% input range.
WAVEFORM The output waveform is sinusoidal. with less than 3% harmonic distortion.

 TRI-PORT CVTs
AVAILABLE FOR THE FOLLOWING INPUTS DC INVERTER SUPPLY VOLTAGES 12VDC, 24VDC, 36VDC, 48VDC, 96VDC, 110VDC.
ANY AC INPUT SUPPLY VOLTAGE BETWEEN 110 V & 440 V (to be specified).
INPUT TOLERANCES ±15%.
AC OUTPUT The output voltage will remain within ±4% of nominal from zero to full load, at unitypower factor, over the input tolerances.
